What does a "Soul Blast Action Flavored" drink taste like? Nothing like strawberries, sadly. According to a reviewer on Gourmet Watch who had a chance to try it in advance, the new Bleach Coca-Cola drink is less sweet than regular Coca-Cola and has a citrusy flavor.

Along with the drink, a pop-up shop atmos' Shinjuku store will have Bleach merch such as T-shirts, badges and keychains for sale from Oct. 7 to Nov. 6, as reported by Crunchyroll. They will sell the new collaboration drinks out of a Bleach-inspired vending machine. Fans can also use the AR game experience and photo booth area. In addition, visitors may put their names through a lottery to win some limited items if they answer a character personality test and post it on Twitter.

Created by Tite Kubo, Bleach follows Ichigo Kurosaki, a teenager who can see spirits. After a Soul Reaper named Rukia Kuchiki gets severely injured by the Hollow she's tracking, a monstrous soul-eating entity who can harm both humans and ghosts, she transfers her powers to him so that he can fight against the Hollow. However, Rukia's actions lead to her receiving a death sentence. Ichigo manages to save her using the combined efforts of his friends, who also possess spiritual abilities and his newly obtained Soul Reaper powers. But this is only the start of a very dangerous and exciting adventure as he fights to protect the innocent and send good spirits to the Soul Society.

Serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump, the series ran from 2001 to 2016 and ended with 74 volumes. The manga has over 2.7 million copies in circulation in the U.S. in 2022. An anime adaptation produced by Studio Pierrot ran from 2004 to 2012 and featured direction by Noriyuki Abe. Eight years after the end of the anime's run, during a Bleach 20th Anniversary Project live stream in 2020, Weekly Shōnen Jump announced that fans will finally see the final story arc animated with the sequel series entitled Thousand-Year Blood War. The original Bleach cast members will return to voice the characters, with Tomohisa Taguchi directing at Studio Pierrot. Thousand-Year Blood War will run for four cours with around 45-50 episodes.

On Oct. 3, VIZ finally announced that Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will stream on Hulu in the U.S. and on Disney+ internationally on Oct. 10, after fans were aghast to see the series taken off of Crunchyroll and Netflix and threatened to pirate the series.
